Ngaumu Gravel Grind 2026

Event Report, Results and Photos

9 Aug 2026

A successful event held on a new circuit in the Davidson Forest Block across the road from the Ngaumu Forest. A course that proved extra challenging with the recent rain on top of the terrain that included:

  • 500m of climbing on forest roads throughout a 20 km circuit.

  • A 700m section of dry weather track that tested tyre grip and bike handling skills.

Perfect weather for winter riding, relatively clear and calm, a couple of showers to soften the course and a balmy 12-14 deg C.

A special thanks to the local companies that make this event happen, including:

  • Juken New Zealand (JNL) for access to the forest.

  • Eastwood Motor Group for the loan of a 4WD.

  • The Coffee Ride for onsite caffeine and snacks.

  • Our local bike shops, Cycling Tom and Compass, for their cycling support.

Thanks to all the volunteers and riders for their support. We look forward to running a similar event next year.
