Race Report – 12 November Mauriceville Rangitumau MSRR
Tonights short and sharp 25 kilometre race started at Double Bridges, headed out to the turn point in Mauriceville then returned over Rangitumau Bluff to finish on the straight just after the lefthand bend
It’s not a difficult course but a strong nor’easterly made the outbound leg hard work for the 25 riders who fronted the start line. This combined with the lead group of around 9 riders who put the hammer down as soon as the flag dropped meant the bunch soon split into two groups followed by a long line of stragglers
The return leg was no easier as with the prospect of a tailwind riders were going hard out to keep the speeds as high as possible
Well done to Derek Roberts for his 1st place especially after riding the North Island Team series race on Sunday
Results Race Time
1st Derek Roberts 22:22
2nd Duncan Cameron 23:07
3rd Dave Drummond 23:23
