Hope Gibbons 40 km Team Time Trial - South Featherston Circuit
The 2026 Hope Gibbons event (Wellington Centre) was supported by 38 riders across 11 teams.
Following from a week of calm and settled weather, the day dawned cold, fine and clear with a very light north-easterly wind providing perfect conditions for a time trial on an open course.
The circuit is a touch under 10 km long in a rectangular configuration consisting of 2 x 3.5 km straight sections and 2 x 1.5 km straight sections on typical Wairarapa rural roads.
Riders presented themselves into 6 categories today. The competition for the Hope Gibbons Shield (Open) and was supplemented with entries for School (2 laps – 20 km), Schools open, and an e-bike team. Unfortunately there were no women's teams entered in the 40 km category meaning the Hope Gibbons Team Time Trial Presidents Cup for Women's Team Winner was not awarded.
