Tonights race was the Two Mile ITT Three Mile ITT on Watsons road followed by a Mass Start Road Race around the Lees Pakaraka road circuit. The weather had been awful most of the day and only brightened up after 4.00pm. Well done to the thirteen riders who turned up to race, the season so far is off to a good start with three races in a row. That’s way better than the past few years.

The first event was the Two Mile (2 miles = 3.2kms) Three Mile (3 miles = 4.42 km) ITT on Watsons road. This is a straight forward out and return and it was a perfect evening being cool but with no wind at all. Riders were set off at 30 second intervals to do the best they could with Richard Van Lent proving to be the fastest on the night

The second part of the evening was a Mass Start Road Race around the Lees Pakaraka road. The first couple of km’s were neutralised until safely onto Johnstone street where the flag dropped.  The pace was soon on with the bunch splitting and stringing out along Lees Pakaraka road. A final sprint for the line saw Richie Van Lent roll Ari Scott for the win with Dave Drummond coming in third.
