Race Report 12 March 2024

The two up TT was held on the Whangaehou Valley road starting and finishing opposite Te Ore Ore marae. Competitors were set off on the 40km course at 30 second intervals heading up Bideford road past the Whangaehou hall before veering left up the Whangaehou Valley road

A brisk northeast wind made heading up to the turn point at 20km harder than it need be, especially the first 5km where the road is straight and exposed to the wind

Once up the valley road the riders had some shelter and respite from the wind but it was still gusting and swirling through the hills and valleys. The return leg was somewhat easier with a helpful cross tailwind most of the way to the finish line.
