Race Report – 18 November 025 J Chesmar HRR Upper Manaia Circuit
A total of twenty one riders (including one e bike) lined up for the first handicap race of the season on the Upper Manaia circuit. The first HRR of the year means riders are racing for the John Chesmar trophy, in memory of a club stalwart and keen rider. Conditions were warm and sunny but a strong northerly wind made the parcours more difficult than usual especially on the rough false flat otherwise known as Westbush road
As always this was a fast paced event with riders easily hitting 45-50 on the run down Manaia road to the sharp left into Boundary road. The short dog leg on Donald road leads to the left turn up Westbush and a long false flat up to the left turn back into Manaia road and the start/finish straight
Congratulations to Break for running down Limit who had an 8 minute handicap on them and to Ricky Blade for taking out the win
A special mention and kudos to the ‘flamme rouge’ for completing four and a half laps on their own and using this as a training ride!
