Race Report – 2 Novmber 025 Two Mile ITT & Paka’s MSRR
Tonights race was the Two Mile ITT on Watsons road followed by a MSRR around the Pakaraka’s Loop circuit. It was a very average turnout with only seventeen riders presenting themselves to race
The first event was the Two Mile ITT on Watsons road. This somehow translated into a 4.3km TT (2 miles = 3.2kms) possibly to make the turn point safer. It was a straight forward out and return but the change to a light southerly head wind took the riders by surprise. At only 4.3kms it was short, sharp introduction to the evening
Riders were set off at 30 second intervals to do the best they could with Richard Van Lent proving to be the fastest on the night
ITT Results                             Race Time                 Â
1st       Richard Van Lent                   06:27                         Â

3rd       Derek De Zwart                     06:37                                     Â
The second part of the evening was a MSRR around the Lees Pakaraka road. For safety this race was neutralized until everyone was safely onto Johnstone street. Here the flag dropped the pace was on. Initially the bunch stayed together however after an attack from Dominic Green that saw the pace leap to 50k/hr the bunch quickly split and became strung out. That man Richard Van Lent took out the race with Nick On and Tom McCallum chasing him over the line

Many thanks to the volunteers for supporting the race by signing racers on, setting out the signage and doing the marshaling
Next week, Tuesday 9 November is the club road race champs on the Te Ore Ore/Bideford course
Let’s try for a big turnout and make an evening of it
